Our Pastor
Christopher M. Todd has a tremendous zeal for God's Word united with a love for God's people. "Pastor T" serves as the Senior Pastor of The New Home Missionary Baptist Church. New Home, established in the early 1880's, is located in the Hissop Community between Rockford and Alexander City in central Alabama. Pastor T has served as the Senior Pastor since August 2010.
Under the leadership of Pastor T, New Home has built on its rich legacy, with the Lord adding new members and increasing membership in the last eleven years. Moreover, New Home has experienced exponential spiritual growth and increased influence in the community.
Pastor T was born in Oklahoma where he accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Paradise Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. After his family relocated to Columbia, Missouri, they united with the Progressive Missionary Baptist Church. While in Columbia, Pastor T began actively pursuing his gift for music, playing a variety of instruments both in school and in church.
Also in Missouri, Pastor Todd's ministerial journey began; he entered the preaching ministry in 1999 as a teenager under the leadership of Rev. Roderick L. Williams, Sr. In 2007, Pastor T was ordained by the Mt. Carmel District Association of Missouri.
Prior to relocating to Alabama, Pastor T served as an associate minister, youth pastor, and director of music. Most recently, he served as the organist, associate minister, and Young Adult Ministry coordinator at the First Baptist Church of Hamilton Park in Richardson, Texas.
Currently, in addition to his responsibilities at New Home, Pastor T serves as Board President of The Shiloh Project, Inc., 1st Vice Moderator of the Morning Star District Association, President of the Morning Star District Congress of Christian Education, 2nd Vice President and Director of Christian Education of the Northeast State District Convention Wing (Alabama), General Secretary of the Alabama State Missionary Baptist Convention, and Board Member of the Lake Martin Area United Way, as well as serving with other community organizations and agencies.
Pastor T graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from Missouri State University, a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling: Marriage and Family from Liberty University. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in 21st Century Ministry at Anderson University.
Above his service to New Home, Pastor T finds joy and balance in sharing life with his best friend and wife, Lady Shay, and their daughters, Anaya, Alani, and Avery.
